Trinity emerge champions of Under 19 Division One Tier 'A'

Trinity College Kandy emerged champions of the Under 19 Inter Schools Division One Tier ‘A’ Limited Overs Cricket tournament yesterday. They Richmond College beat 41 runs according to the D/L method in the final played at Thurstan ground Colombo.

Match was reduced to 41 overs per side. Trinity Kandy won the toss and elected to field first. Richmond Galle scored 123 runs in 40.1 overs, Sharon Abhishek (33), Janeth Kaushal (28) and Thamindu Pradeeptha (19) helped to build their innings. Theeraka Ranatunge claimed 3 wickets for 24 runs. Trinity Kandy scored 109 runs for 4 wickets in 24 overs. Skipper Rahal Amarasinghe scored 36 runs. Theeraka Ranatunge (21*) and Supun Waduge (19) helped to build their innings. Match stopped earlier due to bad light then was abandoned due to rain. Trinity required only 68 runs in 24 overs according to the D/L method.
