Trinity, Viharamahadevi hockey champs

The 19th six a side invitation hockey tournament organized by Seethadevi Girls College and Seethadevi Sports club took place on Saturday and Sunday the 18th at the Asgiriya International Stadium. This tournament came back after two years. In his tournament twenty two men’s and ten women’s teams and school boys and girls teams were seen in action. It was well organized and well played tournament, few teams who were to play did not take part.

In the under 16 boys Trinity College emerged champions and Dharmaraja College runner-up, in the final winners scored three goals against two. Then in the girls event Viharamahadevi Girls College were the champions with St. Anthony’s Convent runner-up in the finals the winners core two goals against one.

In the men’s ‘B’ Division Club tournament Colombo Colts beat Kingswood HC 1-0 to become the champions. And in the women’s Air Force ‘A’ beat Air Force ‘B’ 1-0 to become champions. The men’s ‘A’ Division Navy ‘A’ beat Police 2-1 to become the champions.
