Ingiriya Police have arrested two persons who had attempted to steal a three-wheeler parked at the Ingiriya Police Station on Wednesday night.
The Ingiriya Police had earlier taken the three-wheeler into custody on June 11, when it was being driven by a person without a driving licence and a revenue licence.
The three-wheeler was parked at the Ingiriya Police Station to be produced in Court on the date of the trial.
A 27-year-old resident of Sri Indrasara Mawatha, Arukgoda and a 31-year-old resident of Piliyandala Road, Maharagama had planned to steal the three-wheeler. They had sneaked into the Police station and tried to take the three-wheeler out of the Police station by using the keys of another three wheeler.
