Two arrested with fake Rs.5000 notes in Katuwana

After an investigation related to the distribution of fake money, two suspects involved were arrested by a team of Katuwana Police officers along with 17 counterfeit 5,000 rupee notes.

Both suspects are from the Katuwana area.

According to information received by an officer of the Katuwana Police, a suspect had been arrested with 17 fake 5,000 rupee notes.

Police said that during the questioning of this suspect, information about the suspect who printed these notes was revealed and the second suspect was arrested after conducting investigations.

During the inspection of the suspect’s house, the police found a scanner used to print fake currency and a laptop computer.
