Two HC clerks arrested over missing bags from production room

Keselwatta Police has arrested two clerks working at the Colombo High Court in connection with the theft of two plastic bags which are said to have contained heroin from the production room of the Colombo High Court.

When the two suspects were arrested with the bags, police information revealed that there was no heroin in them. A senior police officer said that it appears that these two bags contained heroin and they have been sent to the Government Analyst for a report. The official said that the related notes are also found in those covers and it appears that they were placed in the production room in 2015. Two men aged 27 and 31, residents of Pannipitiya have been arrested. Investigations have also revealed that the two of them are clerks working in the court production room.

Police said that one person was arrested on charges of theft and the other person for aiding and abetting in the theft.
