Two suspects arrested for stealing vehicles

The Kegalle Divisional Crime Investigation Unit arrested a suspect for stealing and selling a taxi after drugging its driver.

Police said that the suspect had given drugs to two drivers in this manner and had stolen a car and a three-wheeler.

The suspect had hired vehicles online and offered drinks mixed with drugs to the drivers of them and stolen the vehicles. The suspect is a 33-year-old resident of Epitawela, Kiriella.

Another suspect was also arrested in Akurana in Matale for preparing forged documents for vehicles and selling them.

The suspect had sold a van belonging to a resident of Nawala, Rajagiriya and a van belonging to a resident of Jaffna.
