UK bound Iranian couple on forged passports arrested at BIA

Officers of the Criminal Investigation Department of Katunayake Airport arrested yesterday (29), an Iranian couple who were preparing to travel to the United Kingdom via Sri Lanka with forged Commonwealth passports. The Criminal Investigation Department stated that a couple aged 29 and 24 were arrested.

This couple who had come to Sri Lanka had been arrested while preparing to go to the United Kingdom. A senior police officer stated that legal action will be taken against this suspect couple for coming to the country illegally and attempting to use fake passports to go to the UK.
