Under-18 finals on Saturday

Zahid Zihar of S. Thomas College and Apna Perera of Ananda College have qualified to play the boys’ under-18 finals at the ongoing HNB-SLTA Clay Court Championship worked off at the SLTA courts yesterday. Zahid beat Thilina Dissanayake 6/2, 6/2 in yesterday’s semi-final while Apna had the better of Hesara Kuruppu 6/3, 6/4 in the other semi-final.

Meanwhile Girls under-18 semifinals saw Vishmi Serasinghe of Ave Maria Convent, Negombo and Ruvi Lewkebandara of Gateway College, Colombo entering finals after beating their opponents comfortably in semi-finals. Vishmi edged out Arushi Tomas 6/1, 6/3 while Ruvi defeated Nishka Vivekanandan 6/0, 7/5. Both under-18 girls and boys finals will be played on Saturday at the SLTA courts. (AA)
