US Ambassador to Sri Lanka Julie J. Chung said that the US Government is willing to provide technical and other assistance to help Sri Lanka’s energy sector.
Ambassador Chung made this statement when she met Energy Minister Engineer Kumara Jayakody recently.
The meeting also aimed to discuss ways to enhance cooperation in the energy sector between the two countries.
The US Ambassador stated that the US Government is willing to provide technical and other assistance to help Sri Lanka’s energy sector in particular.
She also expressed her strong hope that the new Government, which has received a strong mandate from the highest level of popularity, will fulfil the aspirations of the Sri Lankan people and that the US Government will support it.
Energy Minister Jayakody explained the Government’s energy policy and vision for energy, and expressed his expectation for the US Government’s support, especially in the renewable energy sector.
