The lowest vegetable prices have been recorded in Dambulla Economic Centre after about 10 years, traders said.
Another reason for the prices of vegetables to have come down to its all time low amount has been described as the decrease in the number of traders coming to the centre to buy vegetables.
In the Dambulla Economic Centre, a kilo of beans was sold for between Rs. 40 to 50, while a kilo of okra sold at Rs.50, a kilo of cabbage and leeks sold at Rs.100, a kilo of carrot sold at Rs.200 and a kilo of cooking melon (kekiri) and cucumber is sold at their lowest price of Rs. 15.
