Veteran singer Priya Suriyasena to make the final journey

The funeral of veteran singer Priya Suriyasena was held at Borella cemetery yesterday afternoon amidst a large gathering comprising family, friends, artistes and the public. Suriyasena passed away at 80 while undergoing treatment at Colombo National Hospital on Tuesday morning (24).

Born on October 27, 1944, Priya Suriyasena made his debut in the music industry in 1968, captivating audiences with his songs. He quickly became an iconic figure in Sri Lankan music, creating some of the most cherished songs, including Adaraneeya Neranjana, Ratakin Eha, Sudu Paravi Rena, Atha Ranviman among others.
