Viral video: Man obstructs road with machete, remanded by court

A suspect who behaved in a threatening manner towards vehicles and pedestrians on the Millawana–Malsiripura road has been remanded until March 31, Police said.

The 40-year-old suspect, a resident of the Akkara 50 area, was arrested on March 22 by officers of the Malsiripura Police.

Police stated that the suspect had obstructed the road while armed with a machete and had behaved in a disorderly manner under the influence of alcohol, posing a threat to motorists and the public.

He was produced before the Kurunegala Magistrate’s Court today and was ordered to be remanded until March 31. (Newswire)
