We will make the change people hope for – AKD

National People’s Power (NPP) Leader and Presidential Candidate Anura Kumara Dissanayake said people in this country hope for and trust need for a change from the country’s present political path, political culture and the economic path instead of just changing governments and leaders.

The NPP Leader said this while addressing the crowd at the NPP rally that was held in Gampola themed “Rich country beautiful life,” yesterday evening (21).

He said that politicians and political leaders jumping from one party to another for personal benefits and to retain power instead of thinking about the country needs to be changed. The NPP leader said that he considers this as an exchange of political power between two political sides. Anura Kumara Dissanayake said that only an NPP government will change the present culture of politicians and political leaders jumping from one party to another in order to stay in power and to stay or get into the Parliament.

The NPP Leader further said the present political culture of jumping from one party to another without thinking of the country and its people needs to be stopped and changed as that is the need of the people in the country and this will be only achieved by a future NPP government. Dissanayake said an NPP government will bring in laws to not only abolish the parliamentary seats of Members of Parliament (MPs) who switch sides, but also will ensure new laws will be adopted to ensure that their Parliamentary seats will be removed within three months after switching parties.
