Wesley – Nalanda match ends in a draw

The under-13 division one inter-school cricket match between Wesley College, Colombo and Nalanda College, Colombo ended in a draw at the Thakshila grounds, Horana recently. Batting first Wesliates scored 168/7 in their 50 overs. Binoth Sandil top scored with 40 runs while Niven Mendis (32 runs) and Adhyaan Zain (26 runs) had good contributions with the bat. Thenuk Perera was the pick of the bowlers for Nalanda captured 2/18.

Chasing a victory target of 169, Nalandian were 125/9 at the close of play. Haritha Amarasinghe scored unbeaten 23 runs and Thenuk Perera also added 23 runs. Adhyaan Zain bowled best for Wesley took 3/14 and Jonathan Fernando and Thimira Senarathne shared two wickets each.
