Windies CA wins two titles in Bangalore

Windies Cricket Academy in Matale emerged champions at the youth International Sports Academy Invitational T-25 tournament held recently in Bangalore, India .

Windies CA yougsters once again proved their talent to win another T25 title. This Tournament was conducted and organized by Youth International Sports Academy Bangalore while juniors got good exposure said Windies CA Head Ravi Punchihewa.

Windies Under 13 team won three out of three and Under 16 team has registered victories in two out of three matches.

Windies Under 13 beat Samprasiddhi Cricket Academy ‘A’ Team and ‘B’ Team as well as YISA Team to clinch the title

During the under 13 Tournament Windies Cricket Academy beat YISA by 101 runs at the first game and in the second game they beat SCA ‘A’ by six wickets. In the third game Windies CA beat SCA ‘B’ by four wickets.

In the under 16 tournament Windies CA beat Samprasiddhi CA ‘A’ and ‘B’ teams and lost to Adhiyan CA by 10 wickets. Dulitha Bandaranayake led the Windies under 13 team. Windies under 16 team was led by Sadilka Rajapaksa. Santhosh Gunasekara and Isuru Wimalasena were adjudged under 13 and under 16 best players of the tournament.

Ravi Krishna Director General Sports Development Athourity Karnataka State was the chief guest and gave away the awards.

Main awards winners:

Under 13: Best Batsman: Senith Koswatte, Best bowler: Achintha Pahan, Best Fielder: Susum Kaluarachchi, Emerging player: Chanutrha Agalawatte, Man of the tournament: Santhosh Gunasekara

Under 16: Best batsman: Senul Koswatte, Best bowler: Dineth Fernando, Best Fielder: Vijebaran Divyashan, Emerging player: Dilitha Bandaranayake, Man of the Tournament: Isuru Wimalasena
