Woman PC robbed, cash, jewellery taken

A wallet belonging to a woman Constable of the Criminal Investigation Department was stolen from her handbag while travelling in a bus on Sunday (29).

She complained to the Kurunegala Police saying her NIC, Police ID, a necklace worth Rs.100, 000, a mobile phone worth Rs.58, 000 and Rs.20, 000 worth cash were inside the wallet.

A senior Police officer said that she kept the gold necklace in her purse to protect it from robbers. The officer further said that, when she boarded a bus from Malsiripura to Kurunegala with her husband and was looking for her wallet to buy bus tickets, she discovered that it had been stolen.
