Woman who threw others to Beira gets heavy bail

A female who was arrested and remanded for allegedly pushing a group of people into the Beira Lake, following a group of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) supporters attacking peaceful protesters in Colombo on May 9, has been released on bail.

The order was issued by Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage yesterday.

The suspect was released on a surety of Rs.500,000.

The Kollupitiya police had earlier informed Court that the investigation had revealed that the suspect had led the attack on the people that day.
