Yasith and Dineshkanthan bag doubles title

Yasith de Silva and Dineshkanthan Thangaraja won the men’s doubles title beating Thehan wiijemanne and Chathurya Nillaweera 3/6 6/3 12/10 in the final of the 106th Tennis Nationals worked off at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association courts yesterday.

Meanwhile Githmi Fernando of Ave Maria Convent, Negombo bagged the girls’ under-12 singles title beating Akeesha Silva 6/2, 6/1 in the final. The boys’ under 12 final saw Methika Wickramasinghe of Ananda College, Colombo clinching the title by beating Aahil Kaleel 6/2, 7/6(5). (AA)
