Youth who stole Rs.40 Mn worth jeep arrested in Negombo

The Negombo Police have succeeded in arresting four suspects who were fleeing after stealing a jeep worth Rs. 40 million from a vehicle sales outlet in Kurana, Negombo.

The theft had taken place between 6.30 pm and 10.15 pm on the March 28. Police said that among the arrested suspects is an employee of this car dealership. The employee is a 19-year-old resident of Katana. Police said rest of the suspects are residents of Katana Kandawala aged between 18 and 20. According to the police, the vehicle had met with an accident in the Kochchikade area while it was being driven after being stolen from the car dealership.

Police information stated that it was possible to arrest the suspects because of this accident.
