Yukthiya’ operation: 950 arrested

During the special operation ‘Yukthiya’ conducted by the Sri Lanka Police and its Special Task Force (STF) in 24 hours, the following quantities of narcotics were seized.

The narcotics that were seized had 296g of heroin, 194g of crystal methamphetamine (‘Ice’), 117kg 421g of Cannabis, 41,767 Cannabis plants, 1kg 86g of ‘Mawa’, 25g of ‘Thul’, 223 narcotic pills and 90g of ‘Hash.

A total of 950 suspects have been arrested during the operation, of which 42 suspects are being further investigated based on detention orders
