135 sovereigns robbed from Inuvil house

Police have begun an investigation regarding a theft of 135 sovereigns of gold kept at a house to give as dowry at a wedding in the Inuvil area of Jaffna. This theft took place on Monday (6) night.

When the homeowner saw one of the doors was open, suspicion arose in him and accordingly, he searched the house and realised the gold had been missing.

During the house inspection, it was found that 135 gold sovereigns, four mobile phones and several other items were stolen.

Kopay Police have begun investigations to arrest the robbers.
