1600 players to take part in Cool Tennis event

An impressive assembly of 1,600 aspiring tennis players from 50 schools across Sri Lanka is poised to make a significant mark at the YETI/SLTA All Island Schools’ Cool Tennis Play Day. This exciting four-day event is scheduled to take place from October 26 to 29 at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association courts in Colombo.

Representing regions including Colombo, Kalutara, Panadura, Moratuwa, Negombo, Jaffna, Galle, Ratnapura, Kandy, Gampaha, Kurunegala, and Batticalo, these young athletes are gearing up to showcase their tennis prowess. Tournament Director Chamila Iddagoda has confirmed a large number of participation for the event.

The tournament is not only a platform for young tennis enthusiasts to display their skills but also a source of inspiration for those dreaming of a tennis career. It offers opportunities for junior players to compete in three age categories: Under-7 Red Ball, Under-8 Orange Ball, and Under-10 Green Ball, as disclosed by Tournament Referee Anjana de Silva.

With the motivating motto “I Love Watching You Play,” the event proudly features YETI, the nutritious energy drink, as its title sponsor. The esteemed Darley Butler and Company Limited has taken on the role of core sponsor, underlining the event’s significance in nurturing the future tennis talents of Sri Lanka.
