
Twenty-four Sri Lankan cricketers have been shortlisted for the DP World ILT20 Season 5 player auction, scheduled to take place in Dubai on Oct. 1.
Wanindu Hasaranga, Pathum Nissanka and Dasun Shanaka are listed in the marquee category, each with a reserve price of $80,000.
Dushmantha Chameera, Eshan Malinga, Nuwan Thushara, Charith Asalanka, Kamindu Mendis and Kusal Mendis also carry reserve prices of $80,000.
The auction will feature more than 200 players from 23 countries, including Babar Azam, Phil Salt, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Faf du Plessis and Liam Livingstone.
According to the final auction list dated Sept. 29, the Sri Lankan players fall into three reserve-price categories:
$80,000: Pathum Nissanka, Dushmantha Chameera, Eshan Malinga, Nuwan Thushara, Charith Asalanka, Dasun Shanaka, Kamindu Mendis, Kusal Mendis and Wanindu Hasaranga.
$40,000: Kusal Perera, Avishka Fernando, Binura Fernando, Dilshan Madushanka, Dunith Wellalage, Milan Rathnayaka, Isuru Udana and Vijayakanth Viyaskanth.
$10,000: Sachindu Colombage, Garuka Sanketh, Chamidu Wickramasinghe, Dushan Hemantha, Nuwanidu Fernando, Tharindu Rathnayake and Vishen Halambage.
Of the 24 Sri Lankan players, 13 are listed as available for the full tournament, while 11 have partial availability.
The list also identifies right-to-match options for several franchises, including Desert Vipers for Hasaranga, Gulf Giants for Nissanka and Thushara, and Dubai Capitals for Shanaka and Chameera.
Abu Dhabi Knight Riders have the right-to-match option for Asalanka, MI Emirates for Kamindu Mendis and Kusal Perera, and Sharjah Warriorz for Kusal Mendis. (Newswire)
