45 teams battle for Honda Trophy

Stafford Motor Company Pvt Ltd has come forward to sponsor MCA ‘G’ division 25 over league tournament for Honda Trophy which is the last main tournament of the MCA calendar.

This is the 12th successive time Stafford Motor Company has come forward to sponsor this tournament and it is very vital for this hard period said Vice President of MCA Shirosha Gunatilleka. The tournament already commenced in last May while it was severely hampered by bad weather.

This is the main reason 19 matches ended with no result. However MCA tournament committee heading to the request by the affected teams replayed all 19 matches with additional cost borne by the MCA added Vice President of MCA.

There are 45 teams pooled in to eight groups conducted in two stages consisting a total of 122 matches which is format for 25 over a side games. In addition special awards for Best Batsman, Best Bowler and Man of the Final presented by Stafford Motor Company Pvt Ltd.
