45,000 tonnes of paddy seized

Three warehouses which had stored 45,000 tons of paddy bags were sealed in Kandale police division, in Trincomalee, yesterday (7).

Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) revealed that 45,000 tonnes of paddy was stored in three paddy warehouses were sealed, said KD Vasanthan, Trincomalee Director of the Consumer Affairs Authority.

He also said that legal action would be taken against those who involved in hoarding activities.
