Al-Arafa Sports Club, Palamunai limited over cricket champs

Al-Arafa Sports Club, Palamunai beat Mahaasini Sports Club, Palamunai in the final to emerge champions and bagged the ‘Palamunai Champion Trophy -2023’ of the limited 08 overs flood-lit cricket tournament conducted by Maroons Sports Club, Palamunai at the Public Play Grounds, Palamunai recently.

Maroons Sports Club, Palamunai President and Management Service Officer (MSO) M.A. Aboosalihu organized the tournament successfully to mark the 23rd death anniversary of the late Minister M.H.M.Ashraff. Altogether 08 cricket teams from the Palmunai area participated. The final match was played between the Al-Arafa SC and Mahaasini Sports Club teams.

Mahaasini Sports Club won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 59/4 in their allocated 8 overs. In reply Al-Arafa Sports Club, scored 60 runs for loss of 5 wickets.

Man of the match and man of the series was A.Hamza of the Al-Arafa SC Parliamentarian and SLMC Leader Rauff Hakeem participated as the Chief Guest at the award ceremony and awarded the trophies to winning teams and players.
