Meelad-un-Nabi celebrated at Education Ministry

The Muslim School Development Branch of the Ministry of Education organized the celebration of Meelad-un-Nabi, commemorating Prophet Muhammad’s birthday was held at the Ministry of Education Auditorium, Isurupaya, Battaramulla, recently.

The event was presided over by the Education Minister Dr. Susil Premajayantha. The special Meelad Speech was delivered by Muslim Affairs Co-Chairman of Inter Religious Alliance for the National Unity of Sri Lanka Al-Haj Ash-Seyed. Dr. Hasan Moulana Al-Qadiri, Education Minister Dr. Susil Premajayantha and Director of the Muslim School Development Branch of the Ministry of Education Major N.T. Nasumuddeen also address the gathering. Students presented various cultural programmes at this ceremony.

Additional Secretary of Ministry of Education N.N. Malaviarachchi, Private Secretary to the Minister of Education Hemantha Premathilaka, Ministry of Education Publications Commissioner General Z. Thajudeen, Senior Officials of the Ministry of Education, Principals, Teachers, of Royal College, Zahira College, D.S. Senanayake College, Hameed Al Hussain College and Malwana Al-Mubarak Central College and Students, many special guests too were present at this event.
