Ceylon Electricity Board Media Spokesperson, Engineer Noel Priyantha said yesterday (26) that the third generator of the Lakvijaya Thermal Power Plant in Norochcholai, which has been shut down due to maintenance work, is expected to be added to the national power system on Wednesday.
He said that this generator was disabled before this due to the maintenance work that must be carried out and later test runs were also being carried out.
At present, the second generator of Lakvijaya thermal power plant is also disabled and it will also be connected to the national grid on December 12, Engineer Noel Priyantha further said.
He further mentioned that the breakdown of the second generator took place on November 17 and its repair work is currently going on.
