Police Sergeant missing after fall from Kelani Bridge

The Grandpass Police said that a Police Sergeant attached to the Police Field Force Headquarters has fallen into the Kelani River from the Victoria Bridge and is missing.

This officer, who is a resident of Pepiliyana faced this incident Wednesday (29) morning.

Investigations have revealed that this officer, who was off duty, was receiving treatment due to some illness. Police found this officer’s mobile phone, the card for receiving treatment from the police hospital and the bus pass on the bridge.

A senior police officer stated that there is no clear information about how this officer fell from the bridge into the Kelani River.
