Ranil, Namal, Dilith and Wijeyadasa sign nomination papers

President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Podujana Peramuna Presidential candidate Namal Rajapaksa and Sarvajana Bala party candidate Dilith Jayaweera and former Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe signed his nomination papers for the upcoming Presidential Election yesterday (14).

The President signed the nomination papers at his political office at Flower Road, Colombo amidst chanting of Seth Pirith by members of Maha Sangha. Members of Maha Sangha offered blessings on the President, while priests from other religions also performed rituals and blessed the President.

The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena, many Ministers, and a large gathering of supporters, including representatives from political parties and organisations backing President Wickremesinghe in the election. Podujana Peramuna National Organiser signed the nomination papers at a ceremony held in Colombo. Former Presidents Mahinda Rajapaksa, Gotabaya Rajapaksa, and former Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa were also present.

Sarvajana Presidential candidate Dilith Jayaweera also placed his signature on the nomination papers yesterday at the Mawbima Janatha Party office in Borella. Leaders of Sarvajana Balaya Ekamuthuwa Vasudeva Nanayakkara, D.E.W. Gunasekera, Wimal Weerawansa, Gevindu Kumaratunga were also present.

Presidential candidate and former Minister Wijayadasa Rajapakshe also signed the nomination papers at his residence at Nawala Central yesterday.
