Prez Poll postal vote marking on September 4, 5, 6, 11 and 12
The Election Commission has announced that postal voting in the upcoming Presidential Election will be conducted on September 4, 5 and 6.
On September 4, postal voting facilities will be provided for those employed in the District Secretarial offices, Election Secretariat offices and those serving in the Police.
The Election Commission also stated that the opportunity to mark the unmarked postal ballot papers will be given again on September 11 and 12.
Elections Commissioner General Saman Sri Rathnayake said yesterday that the issuance of postal vote ballot papers will be carried out at relevant District Secretariat offices on August 26. He also requested all the responsible public servants to mark their postal votes in front of their certifying officers.
Acceptance of postal voting applications for the upcoming Presidential Election which was extended by four days from the previous ending date of August 5 by the Election Commission due to insufficient number of postal voting applications received, ended at midnight last Friday (9).
