Adjournment Debate on State of Emergency scheduled for today

The Committee on Parliamentary Business decides to hold an Adjournment Debate on state of emergency today (04) from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

A decision had been reached during the Committee on Parliamentary Business held yesterday (03) under the chairmanship of the Speaker (Dr.) Asoka Ranwala, to hold an Adjournment Debate on the prevailing disaster situation caused by recent adverse weather conditions. The debate is scheduled to take place today (04) from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Herein, as per the schedule previously decided, the debate on ‘Government Policy Statement’ presented by the President in Parliament recently will be continued tomorrow from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Following the vote scheduled at 5:00 p.m., the Adjournment Debate proposed by the Opposition will commence at 5:30 p.m. as agreed.
