Speaker informs House MP Gayantha Karunathilaka appointed as Chief Opposition Whip

Speaker Dr. Ashoka Ranwala informed the House yesterday that SJB’s Galle District MP Gayantha Karunathilaka has been appointed as the Chief Opposition Whip. MP Karunathilaka was elected to Parliament this time by securing 36,093 preferential votes at the General Election.

He has previously also served as the Chief Opposition Whip.
