Tourism Minister requests MPs to donate 75% of salary

Tourism Minister Prasanna Ranatunga has called for Parliamentarians to donate 75% of their salaries, for public and private sector employees, except for health workers to donate 50% of their salaries and for minor workers to donate 30% of their salaries during the lockdown period.

The proposal was made by the Minister in a letter to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa entitled ‘Actions to be taken in the face of the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
