A delegation including Members of Victorian Parliament visit Sri Lanka
A delegation including Lee Tarlamis OAM, Pauline Richards and Gary Mass, Members of Parliament for the State of Victoria, Australia, visited the Parliament of Sri Lanka on Thursday.
The delegation met the Acting Secretary General of the Parliament, Chaminda Kularatne, where they discussed about the International University on Climate Change to be established in Sri Lanka, the sectoral oversight committees of both parliaments.
Discussions were also held on parliamentary proceedings and further increasing educational opportunities for Sri Lankan students in Australia. This event was attended by Ven. Sevanagala Nandarathana thera, the Chief Incumbent of the Australian Dhamma Temple, Narendra Fernando, Serjeant-at-Arms of the Parliament, and Prof. Ashu Marasinghe, President’s Parliamentary Affairs Advisor.
Then the delegation engaged in a Parliament tour thereafter.
