A Request from the President at the Commonwealth Leaders Meeting
His Excellency President Ranil Wickramasinghe participated in the Commonwealth Leaders Meeting held yesterday (05) at the Commonwealth Secretariat.
At the meeting, the President emphasized the importance of the Commonwealth in supporting youth participation and education reforms, and has called for strengthening relations through digitization. The President also joined a bilateral discussion with the President of Ghana and Prof. Maithree Wickramasinghe participated in the ‘Fireside Chat’ program held concurrently with the conference. Meanwhile, President Ranil Wickremesinghe and the President of Rwanda met in London and discussed the improvement of bilateral relations between the two countries in many fields including agriculture and health, as well as a meeting of the ministers of the two countries to look into its future activities.
Speaking at the meeting, King Charles stated that the Commonwealth is at the forefront of his life and he will provide maximum support for the values of those countries and the development of the people.
