Accused in nine child abuse cases found dead A’pura temple
The former security manager of the North Central Province Development Design and Equipment Agency, who has been named as defendant and accused in the nine cases related to the abuse of nine children under the pretext of teaching them yoga exercises to girls under the care of Avanthi Devi Balika Orphanage, Anuradhapura, had been found dead in a temple premise in the Anuradhapura city, Anuradhapura headquarters police said.
Kelum Senanayake 45, who was found dead has been identified.Police also said that an attempt had been made by this person to hang himself day before yesterday (27) but is said to have failed and he is suspected to have swallowed poison and died subsequent to writing a long letter of explanation. This man had once worked as the manager of the North Central Development Design and Equipment Agency, and had been fired from that position due to various criminal charges.
