Accused who forgot Counsel’s name remanded

An accused who claimed to have forgotten the name of his Counsel was ordered to be remanded for two months until he remembers the name by the Colombo High Court.

 The direction was given by Colombo High Court Judge Amal Ranaraja.

When the case was taken up in Open Court, the Court found that the accused who appeared in the dock was not represented by a Counsel.

Then the accused told the Court that he had forgotten the name of his counsel in preparation for the judge to order the case to be adjourned until the counsel was found and arrived. After considering the accused actions, the judge ordered that the accused be remanded until September 29 until he remembers the name of his counsel.
