Acolyte of Madush arrested with cannabis in Kaduwela

The Special Task Force yesterday arrested Suresh Wasantha alias Suresh who is  considered as a close associate of druglord Makadure Madush, with a stock of 12 kg of cannabis. Suresh had attended the Dubai party of Madush was arrested by the Dubai police and he was later deported to the country.

Madush was shot dead in police custody, the Special Task Force had received information that this Suresh was working as an agent distributing Kerala ganja from India to Jaffna by sea.

He was arrested during an operation carried out by the intelligence wing of the Special Task Force in Bomiriya.

The STF stated that the suspect had distributed Kerala ganja by hiding it in a lorry under the guise of transporting coconuts. It has been revealed in the operation that cannabis is being smuggled by hiding among the coconuts .

Information has now been revealed that this suspect gets cannabis from a person named Victor in Jaffna and that he is the one who carries out the smuggling of Kerala ganja through the sea routes between India and Jaffna.
