AFTA conducts programme in ‘Executive Certificate in FinTech’

Asian FinTech Academy (AFTA) recently conducted a programme ‘Executive Certificate in FinTech’ at the Hilton Colombo.

The programme is based on video presentations and lectures of a number of professors and professionals led by Professor Douglas W. Arner.

Professor Arner is the Kerry Holdings Professor-in-Law at the University of Hong Kong (HKU) and Project Co-ordinator of a major five-year project funded by the Hong Kong Research Grants Council Theme-Based Research Scheme on ‘Enhancing Hong Kong’s Future as a Leading International Financial Centre’.

He has served as a consultant at the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, APEC, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Islamic Financial Services Board and Development Bank of Southern Africa.

Professor Arner led the development of the HKU’s world’s largest Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) ‘Introduction to FinTech’, launched on edX in May 2018, now more than 100,000 learners spanning every country in the world.

AFTA is affiliated with Colorado, a USA-based International Board of Standards (IBS), certifying body, which operates in over 40 nations worldwide. IBS owns the certifications and trademarks conferred by the Global Academy of Finance and Management (GAFM). IBS is a charter member signatory to Washington, D.C.-based Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and has agreement with Kansas, USA-based Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programmes (ACBSP) since 2004.
