Ajith Nivad Cabraal resigns from CBSL

Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivad Cabraal has submitted his resignation yesterday. “In the context of all Cabinet Ministers resigning, I have today submitted my resignation as Governor, @CBSL to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa,” Cabraal Tweeted.

Current Deputy Governor, Dr. P. Nandalal Weerasinghe is to be the Acting Governor. Former Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka Indrajit Coomaraswamy is tipped to come back as a Consultant or to a higher position. (news in.asia)
