Akkaraipattu Hijra Youth Club overall champs

Hijra Youth Club, Akkaraipattu with 134 points won the overall championship at the Akkaraipattu Divisional Youth Sports Festival-2021 held at the Public Play Grounds, Akkaraipattu recently.

Akkaraipattu King Worriers Youth Club with 61 points and Shoe City Youth Club with 31 points were placed second and third respectively.

The Akkaraipattu Divisional Secretariat Youth Services Officer Zameelul Ilahi organized the programme. The meet saw members of the registered youth clubs affiliated too National Youth Services Council taking part in various sports competitions at the sports festival.

The National Youth Services Council conducted a programme to promote youths goodwill and traditional sports in the Akkaraipattu DS division with the support of Youth and Sports Ministry.

Team sports of cricket, football, volleyball, beach volley ball, kabaddi, karam(Single), Karam (Double) tag- of- war and elle along with athletic events were conducted. Youths from 18 registered youth clubs took part in the event.
