All Share Price Index passes 11,000 mark, records over Rs. 10 bn turnover

Colombo bourse achieved another milestone yesterday as All Share Price Index passing 11,000 mark whilst recording a healthy turnover above Rs.10 bn. Thus, the All Share Price Index increased by 255.5 points (+2.4%) to close at 11,008.3 whilst S&P SL20 Index also gained8.5 points (+0.2%) to close at 3,606.9.Commercial Leasing and Finance, LOLC Finance, Expolanka Holdings, LOLC Holding sand Sunshine Holdings remained as the top positive contributors to the ASPI during the day.

Further, broader market’s total turnover stood at Rs.10, 272.5 mn against the 12-month average daily turnover of Rs. 4,274.8 mn, whilst the volume traded for the day was 538,759.9 k against the 12-month average daily volume of 220,884.8 k. Capital Goods, Diversified Financials, Transportation and Food and Beverage sector mostly contributed to yesterday’s turnover.

The top turnover generators for yesterday were LOLC Finance Rs. 3,601.1mn (+23.2%) ,Expolanka Holdings Rs.1,209.7mn (+6.0%), Browns InvestmentsRs.717.9mn (-2.6%),Sunshine Holdings Rs525.6mn (+19.2%)and Commercial Leasing & Finance Rs.487.2 mn (+14.4%).

Foreigners recorded an outflow of Rs.111.9mn during the day. Foreign purchases stood at Rs.188.4mn which were approximately witnessed in LOLC Finance, Colombo Fortland, Sunshine Holdings, Aitken Spence Hotel Holdings and LOLC Holdings whilst total foreign sales amounted to Rs.300.3mn, assumed to be seen Chevron Lubricants, John Keells Holdings, Browns Investments, Royal Ceramics and Dipped Products. Further, there were off-board transactions in Melstacorp (Rs.22.8 mn), Vallibel One (Rs.27.6 mn), Chevron Lubricants (Rs.25.2 mn), LOLC Holdings (Rs.20.1 mn) yesterday.

Further, Vidulanka announced a second interim dividend of Rs.0.175 for FY22. Additionally, SMB Leasing (Non-Voting), Industrial Asphalts, LOLC Finance, Softlogic Capital and Sunshine Holdings were the top price gainers yesterday whilst Colombo Dockyard, Lankem Ceylon, CM Holdings, Serendib Land and Chrissworld were the top price losers. Further, LOLC Finance, SMB Leasing (Non-Voting), LCB Finance, Browns Investments and Softlogic Capital were amongst the most actively traded stocks yesterday.
