Ameen heads Sri Lanka Muslim Media Forum

The 27th Annual General Meeting of the Sri Lanka Muslim Media Forum convened at the Postal Department Auditorium recently. United Nations Resident Coordinator Marc-Andre Franche and Iran’s Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Dr. Alireza Delkhosh attended.

The meeting witnessed the re-election of the forum’s incumbent leadership for another term. N. M. Ameen was elected as President and Sadiq Shihan as General Secretary.

Awarding ten members who have made significant contributions to the media and journalism is a way to highlight their achievements and dedication to their profession. The Sunday Island Editor Menik De Silva received a Lifetime Achievement Award. He served as an Editor of the Sunday Observer and the Daily News as well.

The following individuals were elected to serve on the Executive Committee 2024-2025: Sihar Anees, Ashraf A Samad, Irsad A Cader, Shams Fahim, M. A. M. Nilam, Rifthi Ali, M. F. Rifaz, A. R. M. Ramzi Kuddus, Sameeha Sabir, Ateeba Tawseer, Jaffa Pared Iqbal, S. M. M. Mustafa, Javid Munawwar, M. I. Nizamdeen.
