Amendment for the Ayurveda Act gets cabinet approval

According to Cabinet Spokesman Minister Bandula Gunawardena the Cabinet has approved the amendment of the Ayurveda Act at the Cabinet meeting held today (23). The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the proposal presented by the Minister of Health to publish the bill in the Government Gazette and then submit it to the Parliament.

The Cabinet meeting which was held in October last year approved the amendment of the Ayurveda Act No. 31 of 1961 to meet the current needs. Pursuant to the above, a draft bill was prepared by the draftsman. It is stated that the Attorney General’s clearance has been received for this bill.
