Amila Ratnage the Antonian swimming star

Twenty year old, Amila Pradeep Kumara Ratnage, a Student of St.Anthony’s College,Kandy studying in the G.C.E.(A/L) Class in the Science stream was admitted to the School in 2009 and his former school was Presidents’Model Primary school from the year 2007. He started Swimming in 2007 in his former school and

participated at swimming meets from 2010 onwards under the coaching of Jagath Uyanhewa, veteran swimming coach of the school.

His main event was Butterfly Stroke and in the Central Province Swimming Championship in 2010 he secured the first place at the 25 metres. Butterfly stroke and then he received a Certificate in Basic rescue Course by the Life Saving Association

In the year 2012 he became the first in the 50 metres.Butterfly stroke at the National age group swimming championship at the Ananda College Swimming pool and in 2015 he ended up third in the 100 metres. Butterfly stroke at the Junior National Aquatic Championship . In 2016 he became second in the 50 metres and third in 100 metres.Butterfly stroke at the 43rd Sri Lanka Schools Aquatic Sports Championship . In 2017 he secured the third place at the 50. 100 and 200 metres. Butterfly stroke at the all Island Schools games organized by the Ministry of Education and in 2018 at the same Meet, he became second in 50 metres. and third in 100 metres. Butterfly stroke.

In the same year he secured the second place in the XLIV National Sports festival oin the 50 metres. Butterfly stroke and in 2019 he became second in 50 Metres. and third in 100 Metres. Butterfly stroke at the 46th Sri Lanka Schools Age group Aquatic Sports championship . In 2019 he secured the second place at the 50 metres. and second in 100 metres. and third in 200 metres. Butterfly stroke.

Amila became the first,second and third at the 50 100. and 200 metres. Butterfly stroke at the National Sports Festival from 2015 up-to 2020. At the Provincial Sports meet organized by the Dept. of Education-Central Province be became first, second, third in the 50 100 . and 200 metre Butterfly stroke in 2018 and 2019.
