Angelo at the helm of Old Antonian Cricket Wing

Former Antonian cricket captain, Angelo Wickramasuriya, took over the reins from Chandika Jayawardhene as the new president of the Old Antonian Cricket Wing (OACW) Annual General Meeting held at Thilanka hotel Kandy on 08/01/2022.

Wickramasuriya was a top class cricketer produced by St. Anthony’s College, Kandy. He is a planter and a top company executive. The President elect with the support of his secretary, Samantha Siriwardhene and the rest of the committee will take Antonian cricket to great heights in the years to come.

St. Anthony’s College Kandy was a cricketing powerhouse until the turn of the millennium but one may say their feathers fell apart with the dawn of the 21st century. Things seem all but settled now, with the past greats taking charge of the cricket administration of one of the cradles of Lankan Cricket.

At this AGM, Ranjith Pieris, one of the legends and stalwarts of Antonian Cricket became the first recipient of the coveted Golden Eagle award presented by the Old Antonian Cricket Wing (OACW).
