Another suspect arrested in online sex case

Another suspect was arrested on Thursday (16) in connection with the abuse and sale of a 15-year-old girl for sex on the internet.

The Police Women and Children Bureau are conducting investigations into the incident and several high profile suspects have been arrested so far in connection with the incident.

Police Media Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa said, “the CID had arrested a suspect on Thursday in the Ratnapura, Kalawana area who had been operating a website marketing women and children for sex. About 46 suspects have been arrested so far in connection with the incident, the Police Spokesman said.

He said that the CID and the Women and Children Bureau are conducting further investigations.
