Anula Vidyalaya set to clash with Ratnawali BMV today

Anula Vidyalaya Nugegoda led by Hashini Liyanage will meet Rathnawali Balika Vidyalaya Gampaha led by Vishmi Gunarathne in the girls under 19 Cricket final which scheduled to be held today (2) at Bloomfield grounds, commence from 1pm.

Two times champions Devapathiraja Ratgama was the favourites to win at the semi finals but Anulians created a major upset defeating Devapathiraja by 8 wickets to enter the final.

The unbeaten Ratnawali BMV defeated last year runner-up Wadduwa Central by 58 runs in their semi final.

Shikari Ranahansi of Anula Vidyalaya was the semi final match winner making superb unbeaten knock of 87 while Dulanga Dissanayake 3/30 and Kaushanu Nuthyanga 2/6 bowled well to restrict strong Devapathiraja batting line up to win the semi final.

Meanwhile the inform opener Vishmi Gunarathne who made a record knock of 417 runs is the key player of Rathnawali BMV and she scored a run a ball half century at the semi finals, once again expected to play her usual innings at this final. The 16-year-old batter Vishmi is undoubtedly the best player of this tournament having National team experience while Nethmi Gunarathne and Sandali Weerasinghe are other two good stroke makers of the side. Umaya Ratnayake who took best figures of 3/20 at the semi final is strengthened the bowling attack.

Meanwhile two loosing semi finalists Devapathiraja Rathgama will meet Wadduwa Central College in the third place match from 9.00 am today (2) before the final game at the same venue, Bloomfield grounds.
