The highly anticipated Award Ceremony for the NCUK International Foundation Year and APIIT Sri Lanka Foundation took place on July 12, at the Monarch Imperial Ballroom.
The event was graced by Chief Guest, Maria McKenna, Business Development Director – NCUK, who joined in celebrating the outstanding accomplishments of students who successfully completed the NCUK International Foundation Year and the APIIT Sri Lanka Foundation programme in Business, Law and Computing.
With a focus on gearing students not just for undergraduate education but for life, the APIIT Sri Lanka Foundation is offered in three streams: Computing, Business and Law. These programmes have been carefully designed to cater to the specific needs of the respective degree programmes from Staffordshire University, UK delivered at APIIT.
The Foundation Programme offered by APIIT is a valuable opportunity for students with GCE O/L qualifications who may not intend to pursue GCE A/L studies or those with inadequate GCE A/L qualifications. With a common goal in mind, all three foundation streams prepare students for entry into Staffordshire University degree programmes delivered at APIIT Sri Lanka. By providing an alternative pathway to higher education, APIIT has opened the doors for a diverse range of students to pursue their academic aspirations in their chosen field.
APIIT is also the first Sri Lankan institute to offer the NCUK IFY, a recognized qualification that eases the transition from secondary to tertiary education. It provides academic opportunities and a pathway to NCUK partner universities worldwide, offering a wide range of degree courses. The curriculum, developed with NCUK universities, focuses on high standards and equips students with language and study skills for university success. Just last year, over 50 students enrolled in universities of their choice after successfully completing their foundation course.
APIIt Chairman Bandula Egodage, address the graduates and their parents. He extended his heartfelt congratulations to the graduating students for completing their Foundation Programme at APIIT.
As APIIT continues to foster a culture of academic excellence, the Ceremony stands as a testament to the institution’s dedication to providing students with exceptional educational opportunities. It marked the beginning of a promising journey for the talented individuals who are now equipped with the knowledge, skills, and determination to succeed in their chosen fields.
